We are looking for an experienced Critical Facilities Manager that came up the ranks on the Mechanical / HVAC Side / Mechanical Chief to support a critical data center. The Mechanical Chief will be responsible for managing the HVAC / Mechanical portion of operation and maintenance of the critical facility / physical infrastructure systems in accordance with company's policies and procedures. The Mechanical Chief will schedule, coordinate, and participate in the facility's significant planned and emergency maintenance. Candidate should have a thorough understanding of building automation systems that assist in operating and controlling the mechanical plant infrastructure. The Data Center is a 7x24x365 a year operation. The Mechanical Data Center Facility Manager will be leading the Mechanical / HVAC Facilities Technicians. The facility manager will manage the local relationship with the customer.

Responsibilities:

Operate and Manage both routine and emergency service on a variety of state of the art mechanical equipment such as: CRAH Units, CRAY , Chiller Plants, Air handling units / AHU , computer grade cooling systems, fire detection / suppression; fuel systems, building monitoring systems; knowledge of Power Systems, etcCoordinate, Inspect and Supervise services performed by outsourced vendors and sub-contractors, ensuring that all work is performed according to established best practices and (SOPs) procedures.Manage local client relationship and act as the point of contact for the company at this site and establish and cultivate key internal and external relationshipsEstablish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance.Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate / schedule projects, manage capacity, change control and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiencyCreate, develop, utilize and administer MOPs / SOPs Strategies / Best Practices for ( o/m ) operations and maintenance on critical facilities / data center facility equipmentDevelop operating and maintenance strategies to ensure continuous availability of all critical systems to maintain a constant state of readiness in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptimeDevelop and update preventative and predictive maintenance program for essential equipment while tracking inventory leveraging the CMMS system Manage costs and OpEx budgets associated with the mechanical and associated operations Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement

Qualifications:

7-15 + years of data center / critical facility operations and maintenance experience.2-5 years of leadership, supervising or managing a technical staff (Critical facilities technicians)Solid background in data center mechanical infrastructure / plant operationsBA / BS / Associates / Relevant Certifications in HVAC / Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent mechanical work experience in a data center required (degree is not needed )Solid understanding of data center mechanical equipment: CRAH Units, CRAY , Chiller Plants, Air handling units / AHU , computer grade cooling systems, fire detection / suppression; building monitoring systems / control systems – BAS / BMSExperience creating MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical facilities / data center facility equipment to improve process and efficienciesPut together schedules / work activities following specified change control / management protocolPrevious experience working at a Hyperscale or Colo highly preferredPrevious experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical a huge plus (Navy nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)Previous experience working with customers a plusStrong verbal and written communications skillsExperience working with various computer systems and applicationsMS Office: Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook; CMMS
