This role is within the Protein North America Division of JBT Corporation. Supporting engineering requests for sales aligned to technology solutions for the food and beverage industry. JBT designs, produces, and services products and systems for a broad range of end markets. As our Mechanical Design Engineer– you will report to the Manager of Design Engineering on the Coating side of the business. On a given day, you may: Mechanical Engineer performs complex activities related to the design, testing and evaluation of mechanical systems of food equipment machinery. Interface with applications, sales, manufacturing, sourcing, and customers to define needs for new or custom features to be developed in existing equipment. Create CAD layouts, design solutions, calculations, regulatory work to ensure the delivery of customer specifications. Prepare mechanical engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimations. Helps solve unique, mechanically related field problems. Work with manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing and suppliers to review the cost/value relationship of the mechanical systems being designed. Requirements for the role BS degree in mechanical engineering or similar field from an ABET accredited engineering program 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in machine design Work within timelines and budget goals Apply advanced mathematical concepts to accomplish job tasks. 3-D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD), PDM (Product Data Management) systems, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems Travel & Location Hybrid schedule 3 days in office/2 days from home #LI-Hybrid Travel up to 20% to customer sites when needed #LI-SH1 Why work at JBT ...
