Mechanical Engineer Contractor Job Number: 351338 Category: Mechanical Engineering Description: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Contractor Location: Mason, OH Zip Code: 45040 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: $31.25-$43.75/hr DoE Schedule: Tu-Th in office Mon, Friday work from home - Hybrid Keywords: #MechanicalEngineer #DesignEngineer JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Produces 3D CAD structural designs during the concept & product design phases of the product lifecycle. * Implements cable management & component mounting strategies based on internal guidelines. * Supports the production of 2D product assembly drawings. * Supports the production of 2D component drawings with appropriate GD&T. * Supports 3D CAD harness design. * Research & present various manufacturing methods in effort to reduce product costs while maintaining structural integrity. * Establishes & tests joint torque specification to achieve appropriate clamping load as needed. * Performs basic FEA structural analysis as needed. * Performs stack analysis as needed. * Designs & builds test fixtures for executing product validation efforts. * Creates production intent rapid prototypes as needed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical field experience. * Minimum of 5-10 years in a product development role. * Experience working with CAD platforms such as Solidworks. * Proficiency with various fabrication tools for creation of prototypes. (Ex. Table saws, 3D printers, belt sanders, heat bending, vacuum forming, lathe, mills, etc…) * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Understanding of GD&T based on manufacturing methods. * Understanding of ASME Y14/ANSI Y14 standards PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Exposure to various manufacturing methods based on materials. * Exposure with FEA analysis tools such as Solidworks, Ansys, Altair, etc... * Experience with MATLAB. * Experience with being a contributor performing Stack analysis. * Experience with being a contributor performing DFMEA analysis.
