Mechanical Design Engineer Job Number: 351722 Category: Design Engineering Description: Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Lenexa, KS Zip Code: 66219 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: Up to $53.12/hr Schedule: Core hours 9:00am-3:00pm Keywords: #MechanicalDesignEngineer #AerospaceIndustryJobs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Will serve as the technical mechanical product expert as you partner with project engineers, electrical engineers, software/system engineers, certification engineers, and other project team members from around the world while designing circuit board integrations for all things oxygen. * Will lead the analysis of our existing processes while also developing new processes. * Will be involved in all phases of the engineering processes from concept evaluation and proposal to design and development to qualification/certification and product field support. * Participate and/or chair design reviews and lessons learned to ensure mechanical design maturity and troubleshooting any challenges. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be a US Citizen or US Person (Perm Resident w/ Green Card) * Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations * Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience OR * Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience designing and troubleshooting mechanical oxygen or gaseous systems including regulators, cylinders, hosing, and breathing systems. * Experience in developing mounting containers for the oxygen and passenger service unit systems. * Mechanical component obsolescence and alternate parts mitigation. * Experience with Aerospace products * Experience with DO-160 or MIL-STD environmental qualification. * Experience with Oxygen Systems or Passenger Service Units (PSUs) or similar systems. * Experience with Siemens NX CAD development tools and integration with Team Center If you are interested in this role, please apply via the apply now link provided.
