Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II

Job Description

The Engineer II, Mechanical is responsible for developing and maintaining mechanical system designs under the direction of an experienced engineer or manager. They lead the development of subsystems in larger design efforts or the complete mechanical system development in smaller projects. They provide technical direction to junior engineers, designers, and drafters. Additionally, they provide engineering support to internal and external customers and perform other tasks as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesTranslate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial applications.Analyze the feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.Validate designs through analysis and testing.Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions.Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross-functional team members.Provide technical direction to junior engineers, designers, and drafters.Support internal and external customers with engineering expertise.Direct individual engineers or designers.Essential SkillsBS in Mechanical Engineering3+ years of experience developing and maintaining mechanical system designs.Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.Experience with railroads, transportation, agricultural, or heavy construction equipment design.Knowledge of power systems and integration into power units and generator sets (up to 2000 Hp/1.3MW).Experience with complex/large-scale machine layout and kinematic design.Experience with large-scale structural design and analysis.Ability to lead and conduct design reviews.Work Environment

The role requires working 5 days a week. The work environment involves collaborating with multi-disciplined and cross-functional team members, using business software such as the MS Office suite, and engaging in design and testing activities. The position may involve working on-site with industrial equipment and products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00
