Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to participate in hands-on design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for industrial part washers. You will utilize the company's vault/design library, learning and following company standards to design automated washers from scratch to completion. Current projects involve working with diesel engine manufacturers and major OEMs, including Ford, Stellantis, and Honda.

ResponsibilitiesDesign industrial part washers using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Utilize the company's design library and standards.Participate in technical writing documentation for machines designed.Work on various projects related to powertrain assembly and industrial washer design.Provide engineering solutions during the design process.Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.Essential Skills5+ years of mechanical engineering/design experience within automation.Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D solid modeling and 2D design.Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D design.Experience with GD&T and understanding of tolerancing.Strong communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsProject lead experience.Experience working with ERP systems for project tracking.Experience with industrial washers and powertrain-related automation.Experience working at companies like Comau, ABB, ThyssenKrupp, or Fives.Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule with the flexibility to work from home three days a week after the first 30 days. Initially, you will spend most of your time in the office to integrate with the team. The facility is located in Southfield and houses 70 employees, with a mechanical design team consisting of five other designers. Occasional travel up to 5% may be required to visit customer sites.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00
