Who will you be working with?
You will work closely with transversal departments within Project Managers, Design Team, Engineering Team and Field Service Team as well with Wabtec teams in APAC region and Europe.
How will you make a difference?
We are seeking a talented and motivated Multi-Disciplinary Design Engineer with a strong knowledge or specialty in Mechanical Engineering to join our team. As a Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on interesting railway projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and enhance your skills in mechanical, electrical and system design.
What will your typical day look like?
Lead mechanical design projects and support electrical and system design projects alongside experienced engineers.
Interface with customers to understand their needs and provide technical expertise.
Propose designs to improve existing equipment or implement new technical solutions based on client requirements.
Participate in the creation of accurate 2D and 3D models using CAD software (Creo & AutoCAD)
Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure the necessary components and materials are acquired.
Prepare and submit technical documentation, including method statements, testing and commissioning plans.
Provide support and guidance to the installation team during project implementation.
What do we want to know about you?
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Written and spoken Chinese is not mandatory but can be a plus.
Bachelor's degree in engineering (multi-disciplinary, generalist or mechanical) or relevant field with a specialty in Mechanical Engineering.
Solid foundation in CAD software, AutoCAD and Creo (training will be provided for Creo if necessary but knowledge of 3D modelling is required).
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including designing parts and equipment, feasibility assessment, and production considerations.
Good knowledge of electrical engineering in industrial systems.
At least some notion in adjacent fields such as automation, computer engineering, communication and networking, RAMS, civil engineering, are desirable.
Ability to work independently with strong communication skills and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with good problem-solving abilities and a willingness to continuously train and learn new skills, both technical and operational.
Previous experience or knowledge of the railway industry is desirable.
Travel, mostly in Asia, may be required from time to time.
