The mechanical engineer will be responsible for the design, fabrication support, and modification of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. Projects vary and may include skills with Mechanical Analysis, Aerodynamics/Fluids, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging, or others. This position evaluates and determines the design approach to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Additionally, this role investigates solutions to product or process problems. Key skills include the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to collaborate across technical disciplines to complete assigned tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good judgment combined with technical expertise, possess an ability to learn new skills, and communicate effectively with team members from different disciplines.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, fabricate support, and modify mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems.Evaluate and determine design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services.Investigate solutions to product or process problems.Collaborate with various technical disciplines to complete assigned tasks.Demonstrate good judgment and technical expertise.Communicate effectively with team members from different disciplines.Essential SkillsProficiency in using 3D modeling software such as Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, CREO, Unigraphics, etc.5 years of experience in DOD manufacturing.Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience with Microsoft Office tools.Understanding and generating commercial and/or military mechanical drawings per the ASME Y14.5 standard.Work Environment

The position is with an integrator of military equipment, specifically on the defense side. The facility is brand new and located just west of Lambert International Airport. The dress code is business casual. The work schedule follows a 9/80 pattern with core hours from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering some flexibility for earlier start times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.59 - $55.00/hr.
