Job Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer assists in the creation and revision of models and drawings of moderate complexity, in support of the development, and sustainment, of consoles, racks, peripherals, and IBS systems. The CAD Designer is expected to deliver accurate models and drawings in accordance with company standards. This role will contain multiple \"project engineering\" duties as well, including setting timelines, schedules, working with cross disciplinary teams and stakeholders and more.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and revise models and drawings of mechanical components, electrical components, and electro-mechanical assembliesCreate and revise cable drawings and schematic diagramsCreate redlines on behalf production/manufacturing. Create and submit Change Requests and Change Notices in the PLM systemCreate and revise item records and Bills of Materials in the PLM systemConduct physical measurements of equipmentConduct interference checks within modelsParticipate in design reviewsDesign sheet metal, machined, and welded components with oversight from Mechanical EngineersCreate conceptual drawings and renderings.Communicate with external suppliersSupport preparation, development, and sustainment of procedures and work instructions for CAD OperationsAssist with administration of PDM VaultComply with workplace operating and environmental guidelines, and health and safety proceduresEssential SkillsDemonstrated ability to create mechanical assembly drawings in SolidWorksDemonstrated ability to create mechanical production drawings in SolidWorksIntermediate proficiency in the design of sheet metal, machined, and welded componentsAbility to switch projects swiftly without losing focusAbility to clearly articulate work and demonstrate high collaboration with team members5-7+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering capacity, with experience as a project engineer.Jira experience to manage tasks. Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with PDM Vault (SolidWorks PDM Professional preferred)Familiarity with understanding of electrical drawingsFamiliarity with Change Management processesFamiliarity with PLM software such as PDXpertWorking knowledge of ASME Y14.X Drawing StandardsWorking knowledge of DFM and DFA practicesPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
