Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design and development of products as well as product changes and enhancements within design standards and workflows. Responsibilities + Develop plans for and execute structural and mechanical testing for components on new and current designs. + Work with a multi-disciplined design team, including mechanical/electrical engineers, production engineers, and product development teams, to design, develop, simulate, and verify new components and designs. + Devise and conduct validation tests to ensure product quality. + Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, calculations, drawings, and processes. + Ensure new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability. + Troubleshoot operational issues and devise short and long-term remedies. + Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement. + Travel to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10%). + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Mechanical engineering knowledge + Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD + Experience in new product development + Mechanical and structural testing experience + Experience with calculations, FEA analysis, simulation, and structural steel Additional Skills & Qualifications + R&D experience + Ability to set up and run test benches for new products + Experience in validation testing + Experience in reviewing simulation results from the simulation team Work Environment You will join a growing department needed for new product development within a good company. The team currently consists of a manager, one designer, and one engineer, with plans to add one to two more members. The company offers flexible scheduling options, including 4x10 hour days, 4x9 hour days with a half-day on Friday, or 5x8 hour shifts. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
