Job Title: Mechanical System Design EngineerJob Description We are seeking a Mechanical System Design Engineer to design industrial laundry equipment with a focus on material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Responsibilities + Design industrial laundry equipment with a focus on material handling equipment. + Understand and interpret customer requirements, translating them into project and product specifications. + Collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and controls engineers for a concurrent design approach. + Provide technical support to Purchasing, Production, Sales, and Product Support departments. + Participate in lab testing and field trials. + Travel up to 5% of the time for site survey visits. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks. + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. + Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the design of industrial equipment. + Experience in designing mechanical industrial systems. + Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic system design. + Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. + Experience with lean manufacturing and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). + Experience with CFD and FEA analysis. + Experience with material conveying and bulk material handling. + Electro-mechanical design experience. + Proficiency in ERP and PLM/PDM software, especially Autodesk Vault. + 5-10 years of experience in the field. Work Environment The successful candidate will work in an office environment within a team of approximately 45 engineers, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Most of the work will be performed in the office, with occasional travel (about 15%) for site survey visits.
