Job Description
Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design and development of products as well as product changes and enhancements within design standards and workflows.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop plans for and execute structural and mechanical testing for components on new and current designs.Work with a multi-disciplined design team, including mechanical/electrical engineers, production engineers, and product development teams, to design, develop, simulate, and verify new components and designs.Devise and conduct validation tests to ensure product quality.Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, calculations, drawings, and processes.Ensure new products meet functional and non-functional specifications, including safety, performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.Troubleshoot operational issues and devise short and long-term remedies.Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement.Travel to customer sites to commission pre-production tests or troubleshoot technical issues (less than 10%).Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMechanical engineering knowledgeProficiency in design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCADExperience in new product developmentMechanical and structural testing experienceExperience with calculations, FEA analysis, simulation, and structural steelAdditional Skills & QualificationsR&D experienceAbility to set up and run test benches for new productsExperience in validation testingExperience in reviewing simulation results from the simulation teamWork Environment
You will join a growing department needed for new product development within a good company. The team currently consists of a manager, one designer, and one engineer, with plans to add one to two more members. The company offers flexible scheduling options, including 4x10 hour days, 4x9 hour days with a half-day on Friday, or 5x8 hour shifts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
