Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Central Engineering team! The engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical parts and subsystems for next generation wafer inspection tools!

Responsibilities

Lead the complete design process, including requirements, concept, design, testing, BOM structure, and scheduling.

Work cross-functionally and drive implementation of design best practices into product design that meets the requirements and specifications, SEMI standards, as well as adhering to manufacturability and reasonable cost.

Conduct various analysis, such as thermal, vibration and FEA modeling, conceptual and detailed design using Creo Parametric, detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing

Collaborate with engineering groups such as Systems engineers and Manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration and subsystem test or system level.

Develop the required supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures.

Qualifications

Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals such as mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis

Ability to collect requirements, generate conceptual and detailed designs for mechanical parts/subsystems and possess analytical skills to evaluate feasibility of designs.

Ability to carry out assembly, testing and resolving issues at prototype and integrated system levels

Experience in detail drawing creation and application and interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) and welding (AWS A2.4) symbols

Familiar with engineering materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and plastics

Familiar with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, plating, etc.

Experience in 3D solid/CAD modeling, preferably Creo/Parametric (previously Pro/Engineer)

Experience in structural finite element analysis (FEA) and software, preferably Pro/Mechanical and/or ANSYS Mechanical

Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis software, preferably ANSYS Icepak/Fluent/CFX or similar

Highly organized and efficient, with a strong ability to optimize time management.

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

PhD degree; Master's degree with at least three years' experience; Bachelor's degree with at least five years' experience

Base Pay Range: $114,100.00 - $194,000.00 Annually

Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
