As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll drive the creation of groundbreaking mechanical systems and components, collaborating with talented professionals to bring visionary concepts to life and ensure project success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with project managers and engineering teams to design and develop trailblazing mechanical solutions.Conduct in-depth feasibility studies and performance analyses to ensure design functionality and manufacturability.Develop comprehensive 3D models and 2D drawings using advanced CAD software.Ensure that all designs meet stringent technical specifications, company standards, and industry regulations.Lead prototype fabrication and testing processes, refining designs through iterative testing.Collaborate with testing and quality assurance teams to guarantee superior design performance and reliability.Continuously enhance existing designs to boost performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.Drive design reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.Prepare and maintain meticulous technical documentation, including specifications and bills of materials.Provide expert technical support to manufacturing, procurement, and service departments.Foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth project execution.Effectively communicate design concepts, project status, and innovative ideas to stakeholders.Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.Engage in research and development initiatives to create next-generation product solutions that meet market demands and business objectives.Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.Master’s Degree in an engineering-related field is highly preferred.Minimum of 5 years of direct engineering experience in the aerospace industry.Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design.US citizen with an active Secret clearance.Knowledge
Expertise in designing aerospace components, including machine design, piping and plumbing systems, structural components, and high-pressure systems.Proven experience in aerospace product development, prototyping, and seamless design-to-manufacturing transitions.Proficiency in preparing detailed technical documentation to support manufacturing and assembly processes.Strong collaboration skills to work with drafters in transforming design visions into precise technical drawings.Skills
Demonstrated success as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role.Advanced skills in CAD software (Inventor, Revit) and other design tools.Deep understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and modern manufacturing techniques.Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail.Outstanding communication skills with a collaborative mindset.Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation tools is a plus.Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or related certification is highly desirable.Diné Development Corporation (DDC) is a Navajo Nation owned family of companies that delivers IT, professional, and environmental solutions to advance the missions of federal, state, and tribal government agencies.
