You will be a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, as well as advanced products for the global civil nuclear power industry and military green power initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing cutting-edge technologies on existing and new development platforms, solving complex challenges in various domain areas, including aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, healthcare, and homeland defense. You will collaborate with a matrix engineering and technology organization, working on multiple programs throughout your career. Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing production support Material Review Board (MRBE) activities and technical supplier support for the ER GMLRS Missile and ER GMLRS launch pod initial production
• Collaborating with the Camden, AR site manufacturing team and suppliers to resolve ER GMLRS production issues
• Engineering design and drawing revision and release tasks
• Working under the direction of a senior lead Design Engineer
• Collaborating with supporting functions, including Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Test, Production, and senior Mechanical Engineers

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and design software for part and assembly design, and associated configuration management tool for managing engineering data and documentation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
• Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process and quality.
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency in PTC Creo for part and assembly design, and Windchill for managing engineering data and documentation.
• Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
• Familiarity with the transition from development to production, including the resolution of design issues and optimization for mass production.
• Experience in mechanical design (preferably production phase) in aerospace or a similar industry.
• Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus.
• Experience in working with, and providing technical oversight, to subcontracted suppliers
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
