Mechanical Design Engineer Lead

SUMMARY

The Lead Design Engineer will guide and give technical support to a team of design engineers to achieve high-quality, timely, and cost-effective design solutions. This role involves design output, managing project timelines and budgets, and collaborating actively with global teams to ensure successful project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Uphold and enforce design quality standards and processes.

•     Review and approve product documentation produced by team members.

•   Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure their expectations are met.

•   Provide constructive feedback and identify solutions within organizational capabilities.

•     Address and mitigate risks and challenges associated with product design.

•    Stay informed about relevant legislation and industry codes of practice.

•    Work primarily in an office setting, with occasional site visits as needed.

•     Advise the Director on strategic, tactical, and operational decisions related to design.

•     Offer insights on the technical scope and readiness of proposed solutions.

•    Anticipate and communicate potential delays or deviations from project plans and recommend corrective actions

•    Give technical support on design team’s output

•    Travel required, 15-20%, internationally

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

•    Advanced skills in design engineering.

•    Creative thinking with a strong focus on product development.

•    Deep understanding of industry design principles.

•     Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) or engineering software. Solidedge preferred

•    Effective project management skills.

•    5 to 10 years of experience
