Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and creative Mechanical Designer with a technical Associate Degree and at least 2 years of experience in designing, drafting, and computer modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical design, a knack for problem-solving, and excellent CAD skills.

ResponsibilitiesDesign components such as die castings, plastic molded parts, metal stampings, and screw machine parts.Translate Industrial Design concepts into CAD models, incorporating complex surfacing.Prepare drawings, product BOMs, and change notices for release and/or change distribution.Support Engineers in analysis, research, and solution of moderate to complex technical issues.Actively participate in project team meetings.Perform testing to analyze prototype and competitive tools to measure and record data/information for evaluation by Engineers.Understand dimensioning and tolerancing calculations for complex designs.Apply geometric and form tolerance dimensioning comprehensively.Assist in the acquisition and analysis of information and test data pertaining to research concepts, products, designs, subassemblies, and components.Communicate with suppliers on part design, manufacturability, and requirements.Manage own tasks, create schedules, and deliver project goals on time.Provide CAD guidance to engineers and mentor new Designers.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsTechnical Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.2+ years of experience in mechanical design, drafting, and computer modeling.Proficiency in NX Designer and NX Design.Excellent ME CAD skills.Comprehensive understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing calculations for complex designs.Ability to apply geometric and form tolerance dimensioning.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to balance multiple projects, responsibilities, and tasks.Self-driven with minimal supervision.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Experience in managing mid-sized projects (4-6 months in length).Strong computer skills with MS Office.Work Environment

This role involves working off-site with the advanced manufacturing engineering group. The site includes some offices but is primarily focused on the production floor, where the latest and greatest designs and builds are developed. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, providing unlimited access to resources and support to achieve industry-leading breakthroughs. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
