Job Title: MEP Mechanical Designer

Job Description

The person in this position will be a major role player of the MEP team. Quality and timely production will be expected. Successful candidates will have solid experience with industry standard tools, technologies, and processes related to the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

ResponsibilitiesProvide MEP engineering designs for multidiscipline projects.Provide CAD and BIM support for the firm’s design projects.Assist teams with project startup, workflow, and coordination.BIM modeling and CAD drafting support during the planning, design, and construction phases of various projects.Handle QA/QC issues and perform the necessary research and exploration to develop solutions that respond to the specific automation needs and demands of a project.Manage AutoCAD and Revit files.Create, modify, and update Revit families and CAD blocks as needed.Provide prompt and accurate status reports on a regular and consistent basis to supervisors and project team members.Review the quality of work prior to any formal document issue.Maintain, create, and follow check-lists to ensure consistency and quality of work on every project.Meet or exceed deliverable timelines.Complete accurate and timely project time sheets accounting for time spent on each project.Essential Skills1-4 (or more) years of relevant MEP design experience with a primary focus on mechanical and plumbing.Experience using AutoCAD and REVIT.Experience in completing design and construction documents in an architectural or engineering firm.Ability to create and modify CAD dynamic blocks and Revit families.Ability to produce quality construction documents.Experience with MS Office.Effective verbal and graphic communication skills.Effective organizational and collaborative skills.Effective time management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an ABET-Accredited Engineering program, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.EIT Certification or PE License is preferred.Major coursework in or related to drafting and/or architecture.Relevant architecture and/or engineering experience.Work Environment

The position is onsite in Plano.
