Mechanical Designer
Description:
We are looking for an engineer to design machines used in the baking industry. The role involves creating bills of materials, assembly and layout drawings for bakery equipment and bakery plant layouts. Under the direction of the engineering manager and engineering coordinator, you will create and detail models and drawings for manufacturing, the technical services department, and customers. You will also redesign existing equipment and modify existing drawings for retrofit projects, ensuring compliance with our design standards for three-dimensional modeling, drawings, material selection, component parts, and system designs.
Summarized Responsibilities:
Design and detail bakery equipment and component parts using CAD software to generate drawings and illustrations.Assist in modifying and redesigning existing bakery equipment by creating three-dimensional models and sub-assemblies.Ensure drawings satisfy required engineering and manufacturing standards.Complete Bills of Materials by listing drawing numbers for manufactured parts and matching part numbers to vendor part numbers for purchased components.Provide functional guidance and direction to less experienced drafters on operating the CAD system and applying design standards.Advise engineering and manufacturing management on issues to improve product quality and production processes.Provide regular feedback to co-workers, supervisors, and management to ensure efficient and effective operations.Participate in and adhere to company policies and programs on occupational health and safety, and operating procedures.What do you need?
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.3D solid modeling experience.Experience in machine design and creating complex assembly drawings.Proficiency with SolidEdge or any other 3D CAD software.What else is nice to have?
Experience with Solidworks, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design, and GD&T.2-7 years of experience in a related field.Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering (AS) is also acceptable.Work Settings:
The work environment is casual, with a team-oriented culture. The engineering team consists of around 20 individuals, with a design team of 6 people. Employees often wear jeans. There is room for growth, with opportunities for advancement within the company. Engineers have access to a testing center nearby to test their work. The company promotes from within and provides a progressive work environment in the baking equipment industry.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $40.00
