Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to design processing plants that are safe, reliable, and meet customer demands. The goal is for you to become the main inventor designer for the team within the next year.
ResponsibilitiesWork alongside P.E.s and project managers to ensure the fabrication capabilities of engineering designs.Communicate minimally with customers.Create layout drawings of complete items with sufficient detail for assemblies to be pulled off and detailed.Produce piece detail drawings for plates and structural steel.Create assembly drawings complete with bill of materials, title block, dimensions, and weld symbols as per designer/engineer.Check detail drawings for assemblies on general arrangements for others and yourself as required.Maintain computer files on both hard drive and network drive.Plot drawings for check and release.Create concrete foundation and anchor bolt layouts and detail machine part drawings.Communicate with other departments regarding the timing and availability of items.Resolve problems and answer questions from other departments concerning drawings to reflect structures 'As Built'.Measure existing equipment for hole locations and physical dimensions.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.Experience in drafting and 3D modeling.Ability to layout and design conveyors.Skill in building and developing Bill of Materials (BOMs).Proficiency in parts detailing in both 2D and 3D formats.Experience in mechanical design, drafting, conveyor systems, equipment design, detailing, redlining, and advanced steel.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience with Inventor or SolidWorks.Experience in equipment design.Ability to create assembly or detail drawings.Capability to hit the ground running in the role and with AutoCAD.Work Environment
You will work in newly renovated engineering offices where the environment is pleasant and casual. You may need to visit installation shops and frequently go to the fabrication shop to discuss blueprints with welders. Benefits include hourly pay with overtime, paid vacation, 401(k), health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00
