If you’re a Mechanical Designer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Intermediate level designer. Woodward is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our Fuel Systems & Controls engineering group. They will be responsible for design, CAD modeling, and drafting of new aerospace fuel system components while working on a team of engineers and designers. Design work ranges from housing and valves to tooling and test fixtures. We’re interested in candidates with drafting experience, strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, and basic manufacturing knowledge to join our team.
What You Will Be Doing
Work within an engineering team to create new mechanical component designs and design documentation.Create 3D models and drawings in parametric-based CAD software for complex fuel system components.Understand functional and manufacturing-based challenges with new designs and participate in problem solving exercises.Use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing as well as internal or industry stands to define component designs. Use dimensional stackup studies to assess assembly-level designs.Participate in continuous improvement activities related to the position.Assist lower-level drafters/designers with tasksWhat We Are Looking For
US – Associate’s Degree required2 year technical degree, certificate, or applicable experience5+ years designer experience or combination of Bachelor’s degree, or international equivalent, and experienceAdvanced CAD software skills and computer skills including ERP systemsDemonstrated commitment to quality and professionalismStrong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organizationThe ability to process multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously with competing prioritiesThe ability to take independent action and complete job tasks with minimal instructionThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
