Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description

Work with Project Managers and Engineers to design processing plants that are safe, reliable, and meet or exceed the customers' demands. The goal of this role is to become the main inventor designer for the team within the next year.

ResponsibilitiesWork alongside Professional Engineers and Project Managers to ensure fabrication capabilities of engineering designsCommunicate minimally, but effectively, with customersCreate layout drawings of complete items with sufficient detail for assemblies to be pulled off and detailedDevelop piece detail drawings for plates and structural steelGenerate assembly drawings complete with bill of materials, title block, dimensions, and weld symbols as per designer/engineer specificationsCheck detail drawings for assemblies on general arrangement for both self and othersMaintain computer files on hard drive and network drivePlot drawings for check and releaseCreate concrete foundation and anchor bolt layout and detail drawings of machine partsCommunicate with other departments regarding timing and availability of itemsResolve problems and answer questions from other departments concerning drawings to reflect structures 'As Built'Measure existing equipment for hole locations and physical dimensionsEssential SkillsProficiency in drafting, Inventor, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCADExperience in 3D modelingAbility to layout and design conveyorsExperience in building and developing Bill of Materials (BOMs)Skills in parts detailing, both 3D and 2DExperience in mechanical design, drafting, conveyor system, equipment design, detailing, redlining, and advanced steel2+ years of experience with Inventor or SolidWorksExperience in equipment designAbility to create assembly or detail drawingsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to hit the ground running in drafting and AutoCADWork Environment

Newly renovated engineering offices with a pleasant and casual environment. Candidates may have to visit installation shops. The team includes 6 designers/drafters, 3 structural engineers, and 2 project managers. The drafter may frequently visit the fabrication shop to discuss blueprints with welders. The role offers great benefits once permanent, including hourly pay with overtime, paid vacation, 401(k), health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Enjoy 3 floating holidays/PTO while on contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00
