Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in material handling equipment, specifically conveyor systems and automated retrieval systems. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D, a willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both the mechanical and controls teams. A minimum of 3 years of design experience is required.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed designs and layouts of conveyor systems and support structures using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Accurately document progress and track project milestones.Commission and troubleshoot systems to ensure smooth flow of products with optimal volume and rate.Assist the site installation supervisor with tasks such as material inventory, schedule tracking, servicing subcontractors, and validating part specifications, depending on skill level.Essential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks 3D for designing equipment.Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D for drawing.Experience designing automation or material handling equipment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to communicate both internally and externally across divisions.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).Experience with material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and automated retrieval systems.Work Environment

The office environment includes a small mechanical design team of four designers. The role requires 5-15% travel to customer sites. The company offers a collaborative culture with a steady workload over the next two years and the opportunity for growth and advancement. The company supports various industries, including automotive, food and beverage, and order fulfillment, with a significant portion of clientele in the warehouse/distribution realm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $80000.00
