Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer with a strong background in sheet metal design and extensive experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and time management skills, as well as a thorough understanding of engineering drawing guidelines and standards. This role involves working independently on medium-scale projects, creating detailed engineering prints, and providing technical direction for prototype and initial builds.
ResponsibilitiesOperate independently on medium-scale assigned projects.Fully model and create parts and assemblies in SolidWorks for various projects.Create and revise fully detailed engineering prints.Provide technical direction for prototype builds and initial builds as required.Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fabrication.Create and release projects through the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.Conform to drafting and department standards and processes.Lead designers as appropriate on jobs and projects.Essential SkillsProficiency in operating a 3D design tool, with a preference for SolidWorks experience.Excellent communication skills.Knowledge of sheet metal design.Understanding of engineering drawing guidelines and standards.Excellent time management skills.Knowledge of electro-mechanical switchgear.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with heavy sheet metal and bussing (connection of two electrical components with a copper bar).Experience in HVAC and/or sheet metal design.Understanding of copper busbars.Work Environment
The work environment involves using SolidWorks to model and create parts and assemblies. The role requires adherence to drafting and department standards and processes. You will be working on medium-scale projects independently and providing technical direction during prototype and initial builds. The dress code and specific work hours will be communicated upon hiring.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00
