Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description

The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating mechanical engineering drawings and designs specific to the warehouse and fulfillment industry. You will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager and interface with other engineering staff. Additionally, you may collaborate with other engineering and sales colleagues.

ResponsibilitiesProduce mechanical installation drawings for conveyor and material handling projects.Research and review customer specifications to ensure compliance.Review available as-built and architectural drawings.Collaborate with team members to maintain a cohesive system design.Prepare prints for approval, permit, installation, and as-built drawings.Make drawing corrections and revisions as needed to meet project requirements.Report drawing status to the Project Manager or Engineering Manager to maintain the project schedule.Prepare drawings for customer design review and discussions.Prepare general arrangement drawings as needed to meet project requirements.Travel to various sites to gather field information as required to meet project needs.Develop area layouts to provide direction to sales team members or outside vendors.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office at an intermediate to advanced level.Ability to design various subsystems within the warehouse environment, including automated systems, conveyance, storage systems, and sub-structures.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.Ability to adapt to changing priorities.Ability to produce quality designs and drawings with minimal errors.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in mechanical/structural design within the warehouse and distribution material handling industry.Experience with conveyor systems, Inventor, CAD, and sheet metal design.Work Environment

The position is based in an engineering center and may require travel to various sites to gather field information as necessary. The role involves working with various technologies and equipment to create mechanical designs and drawings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00
