Mechanical Designer
Description We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Marine Designer to join our team in designing piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor. This role is crucial in supporting our shipyard projects, specifically for the United States Coast Guard's large vessel designs. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a Designer 4 and collaborate closely with other Designers and Engineers. Key Responsibilities: • Design piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor. • Translate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and 2D drawings. • Collaborate with team members to ensure design accuracy and project success. • Communicate frequently with Designers and Engineers to align on project requirements and updates. • Utilize specialized shipbuilding software that integrates with AutoCAD. Skills Autocad, Design, Cad, shipconstructor, maritime, piping design Top Skills Details Autocad,Design,Cad,shipconstructor,maritime,piping design Additional Skills & Qualifications Requirements: • Proficiency in AutoCAD and mechanical design. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with ShipConstructor. • At least 5 years of experience working on piping detail design within the maritime community. • Strong understanding of piping systems and instrumentation diagrams. • Ability to translate P&IDs into 3D models and 2D drawings. • Excellent teamwork and communication skills. • Formal education in drafting (preferred). Preferred Qualifications: • Working knowledge of translating P&IDs to 3D models and 2D drawings. • Formal education in drafting. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
