Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Marine Designer to join our team in designing piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor. This role is crucial in supporting our shipyard projects, specifically for the United States Coast Guard's large vessel designs. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a Designer 4 and collaborate closely with other Designers and Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

•\tDesign piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor.

•\tTranslate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and 2D drawings.

•\tCollaborate with team members to ensure design accuracy and project success.

•\tCommunicate frequently with Designers and Engineers to align on project requirements and updates.

•\tUtilize specialized shipbuilding software that integrates with AutoCAD.

Requirements:

•\tProficiency in AutoCAD and mechanical design.

•\tMinimum of 3 years of experience with ShipConstructor.

•\tAt least 5 years of experience working on piping detail design within the maritime community.

•\tStrong understanding of piping systems and instrumentation diagrams.

•\tAbility to translate P&IDs into 3D models and 2D drawings.

•\tExcellent teamwork and communication skills.

•\tFormal education in drafting (preferred).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
