Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for plant layout and equipment layout, performing in-house mechanical design including life safety, HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, gas, and fire sprinkler systems for capital expansion projects and renovations of existing facilities. This role involves working on various industrial projects including pet food plants, chemical plants, and food & beverage facilities using Plant3D and AutoCAD.

ResponsibilitiesDesign plant layouts and equipment layouts.Perform in-house mechanical design for life safety, HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, gas, and fire sprinkler systems.Work on capital expansion projects and renovations of existing facilities.Design process piping, select equipment, create material lists, prepare contract documents, and review drawings for industrial projects.Provide preliminary design documents such as conceptual designs, technical specifications, and site plans for industrial projects.Essential SkillsProficiency in Plant3D and AutoCAD 2D.Experience in plant design, equipment layout, dust collection, pipe stress, material handling, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, and industrial design.Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial background, preferably in manufacturing or food & beverage industries.Experience with MEP dust collection conveyor design.Associate's degree in design and drafting.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office.Experience with Navisworks is preferred.Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments.Experience in Food & Beverage, Agricultural, Mineral Processing, and Power Industries.Ability to develop detailed design documents for construction packages.Strong working relationships with customers, contractors, fabricators, vendors, etc.Work Environment

The office is located in the popular Regency district of central Omaha, close to the Dodge Expressway and with easy interstate access. The area offers shopping and popular food locations nearby. The office suite includes a cubicle area for the Mechanical Designer, equipped with updated technology and multiple monitors. This role is primarily office-based (90%) with occasional site visits for 3D laser scanning of new customer sites. The firm is a small, close-knit team of about 15 employees. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
