In the role of Mechanical Designer/EIT we'll count on you to:Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and proceduresAssist senior engineers by conducting analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimatesSelect and schedule equipment and devices for mechanical systems, working with equipment vendors to obtain equipment selections when necessaryWrite and edit mechanical specifications to fit project requirementsDevelop sections and elevations for complex ductwork and piping areasDevelop air and water flow diagramsReview mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesDevelop competency and skills to work independently on small projects and assist more senior engineers on larger projectsComplete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variablesCoordinate workload to complete tasks on scheduleAssist the project team with mechanical discipline tasks throughout all project phases ranging from feasibility studies, programming, conceptual design, schematic design, construction documents, construction administration, commissioning, and project close-outPerform field work and verification of existing conditions where requiredProvide construction administration support by reviewing mechanical submittals and answering RFIsVisit project sites as requested or as contractually required to monitor construction progress and prepare field observation reportsCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with project addenda, RFIs, and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.Give direction to clerical and technical personnel Preferred Qualifications EIT certification, or ability to obtain EIT certification within 1 year of employment. Candidates who are hired without a state issued EIT will have an initial title of "Mechanical Designer" and will be expected to obtain this certification for career progression.Proficiency in Revit and MS OfficeExperience using load calculation software, energy modeling software, and manufacturer equipment selection softwareCandidates who reside locally or are willing to relocate are preferredRequired Qualifications
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software) An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
