Overview Mechanical Designer III

The Mechanical Designer III will design plumbing systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles.

Responsibilities Specific ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with project managers to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects.Works closely with the creative team to ensure the successful execution of goals of all assigned projects.Influences stylistic direction for projects.Delivers concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines.Contributes to all areas of the creative process and department.Performs work under direct supervision.Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.

This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Engineering Director.

Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and QualificationsAssociate’s degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management4-6 years’ design experienceStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and REVITStrong technical skillsEffective oral and written communications skillsVision and CreativityAbility to meet deadlinesPlanning skillsPossesses beginning to working knowledge of the subject matterDetail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environmentExcellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessaryPreferred Education, Experience, and QualificationsBachelor's degreeTravel Requirement5-10% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.Physical/Work Environment RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerClimbing stairsRemaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periodsRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingersQuiet environmentLight work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds
