Key responsibilities
Strong understanding of Electric Driveline and/or Traditional (ICE) Driveline systems and componentsUnderstanding and implementation for BorgWarner PDP (Product Development Process) and EDF (Engineering Development Framework)Understanding and interpretation of component and/or sub-system design requirements provided by program leadsPerforming engineering analysis and calculations on components and/or sub-systemsIssuing CAE requests and provide direction as needed for analysis of components and/or sub-systems.Creating and maintaining component and/or sub-system DFMEAs and use them to define Special CharacteristicsCreating ADVP&R to validate components and write lab work orders to direct technicians to conduct testing on componentsCreating technical design data including 2D prints and 3D models using NX.Thorough knowledge of component drawing requirements, including tolerances, GD&T, and their use in stack calculation. Performing stack calculations.Support DRR (Design Release Review) and creating work products (drawings, specifications, etc.) per program timingBeing the point of contact for technical discussions with Program Manager, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Supplier Development EngineersPromoting component re-use through knowledge of the global component familyReviewing internal and external change requestsProviding technical support for component issues arising in validation or warrantyProviding cost reduction ideas for their respective component families.Conducting and documenting benchmarking and lessons learned reviewsWhat we are looking for
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related fieldMinimum of 3 years of related engineering work experience is requiredExperience in EV Driveline and/or ICE Driveline systems is requiredDemonstrated experience creating and maintaining 2D/3D technical drawings/models using NX CAD SoftwareDemonstrated experience of component and/or subsystem design, development, validation, and releaseDemonstrated experience creating and maintaining DFMEAPreferred Requirements
Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of related engineering work experienceExperience and/or training in Root Cause AnalysisExperience and/or training in APQPExperience and/or training in DFM/DFASelf-directed/self-motivatedExcellent drive for results with the ability to coordinate projects from start to completionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Software/ Hardware and General TrainingMS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project)TeamCenterTechnical WritingWhat we offer
