Mechanical Distribution Sub-AMP Manager

**Purpose and Scope:**
Provide technical guidance on the Mechanical Distribution aspect of a government contract on a military installation. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for an asset lifecycle management portfolio containing all facilities for the sole purpose of providing transmission, monitoring, and maintenance support to the natural gas, fuels, steam and hot water distribution systems up to the five-foot line of structures.
+ Responsible for all facility-specific heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and facility mechanical rooms.
+ Advise and assist with the development of the FYDP+3 infrastructure plans for natural gas, steam, hot water and HVAC plans.
+ Responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers.
+ Develops cost estimates and time schedules, Reviews and analyzes preliminary and final designs, plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.
+ Monitors and/or manages projects for new construction, renovations and improvements to real property facilities, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering.
+ Secures the cooperation of other crafts/trades supervisors and to instill within the assigned electrical staff the cooperative attitude necessary for working closely with other maintenance trade workers.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
+ Engineer Technicians with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in their field of expertise.
+ Must be familiar with NexGen IT.
+ Must be BUILDER SMS level 3 certified.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to read and write English is required.
+ Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
+ Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
+ Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
+ Candidate is required to be a USN to fill this position.
+ Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
+ Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
+ Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
+ **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.
+ Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds.
+ The Mechanical Distribution Sub-Amp shall be located at Ascension Island.
+ Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
+ Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
+ Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
