Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Job Description

The Drafter II is engaged in the creation and modification of technical drawings, relying on rough engineering notes, sketches, and verbal instructions. This role requires interaction with engineers and manufacturing personnel, who provide the necessary technical data for the products. The Drafter II will integrate these specifications into drawings that support the manufacturing, maintenance, or repair of the products. Responsibilities include collecting measurement data, developing new models and drawings, and updating existing ones.

•  Create shop drawings for military aircraft and simulators

•  Solid modeling is required and a background in sheet metal is a plus.

•  Design custom stainless steel equipment meeting specific customer and industry requirements

•  Manage large assemblies consisting of sheet metal, parts, sub-assemblies, hardware, and imported files.

•  Help to establish better modeling skills, software training, and ways of improvement for other Design Engineers.

•  Create shop drawings for custom equipment, including weldments.

•  Designing, drafting complex parts and assemblies with mechanical design/integration skills

•  Managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings

•  Familiar with a PDM Product Management Database

•  Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics per product

•  Solid 3D-modeling using Solidworks or sheet metal

•  Designed CAD models per customer specifications and order sheet

•  Worked with Project managers to deliver requested drafts for customer review

•  Simultaneously worked on multiple projects and project managers, prioritizing deadlines

•  Product procurement, DXF drawings for a laser cutter and bends, and drafted electrical drawings

•  Troubleshoot and adapt model files from CAD library to meet customer specifications

•  Knowledge of GD&T for manufacturing sheet metal
