Job Title: Mechanical Drafter/Designer
Qualifications:
Proficient in reading and interpreting weld symbols and using common tools for Machinists and Assemblers.Expertise in AutoCAD and Inventor.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.High attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficient in reading and understanding custom specifications.Skilled in using mechanical drawings, schematics, diagrams, and computers to develop custom applications.Essential Responsibilities:
Receive work orders, design and layout drawings, sketches, memos, and instructions for preparing layout and limited design drawings of new and revised products or customer parts using a computerized drafting system.Create sketches, layouts, and marked prints.Ensure designs meet all safety and environmental requirements.Assist in determining parts needed for projects and may assist with purchasing requirements, including contacting vendors for part availability.Prepare parts and specifications required for limited part designs, including basic volume and area calculations.Determine drawing size requirements.Locate company number references in standard parts catalog, calculate weights, and prepare bills of material on drawings.Maintain the engineering change notice (ECN) log and expedite design applications with manufacturing operations to meet schedules.Provide advanced assistance to the manufacturing group on drawing design and quality control issues, spare part replacements, and eliminations.Assist in assembling products to teach and/or learn new products.Use proper procedures to avoid generating new part numbers for existing components and make use of existing inventory wherever possible.Correct errors in existing drawings as identified.Serve on various company committees, such as engineering standards and product design assurance programs.Function in a workplace that upholds dignity and respect for all.Work effectively as a team member and maintain good relationships with colleagues.Adhere to EEO guidelines and principles.Report to work on time as scheduled and ready to perform dutiesAbout Actalent
