Description We are seeking a Manufacturing Drafter to join our client's team in a contract capacity. In this role, you will be integral to the production process, creating technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and CAD models using Solidworks Software. Responsibilities: + Create complete and detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and manufacturing schematics using SolidWorks Software, including measurements, specifications, and additional data provided by the engineering team. + Combine initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers into complete and coherent initial design models for review and modification. + Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to comprehend project requirements, verify design details, and suggest modifications appropriately in line with company standards and best practices. + Accurately annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings. + Engage actively with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts before production and assist in designing, creating, and testing the production mold. + Support the engineering team by producing technical drawings and digital models in a timely manner, applying innovative methods to ensure all relevant design details are incorporated. + Participate actively in the ongoing project to standardize and unify design document standards by attending meetings and preparing necessary presentation materials. Requirements Requirements: + Degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field desired (2-year degree will be considered!) + 1-2+ years of experience with SolidWorks is a MUST. + Proficiency in design software and ability to create detailed, accurate 2D drawings and 3D models. + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. This role is primarily onsite (4 days per week) in Rolling Meadows.
