We work closely with owners, architects and the entire planning team well before ground is broken; providing cost analyses, scheduling information, and value engineering services to ensure that our client can make informed decisions leading to a timely finish of the highest quality and the best value. **Summary** The Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Systems Manager works closely with the company’s Pre-Construction Services Team, Director of Operations, and individual Project Managers to provide MEP system management and coordination on select projects. Services are provided during the various phases of a given project, including the client and project marketing strategy development, sales, pre-construction, and construction. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Maintains strong working relationships between the MEP group and internal partners + Provides early Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (FMEP) system analysis to support innovative sales and + presentation strategies. + Participates in proposal development and sales/interview presentations. + Provides review of FMEP subcontractor bids and price proposals. + Assists in the development of FMEP subcontractor Request For Proposals (RFP). + Provides early FMEP system input to evaluate FMEP system alternatives, including life cycle analysis to guide project teams to + appropriate FMEP system solutions. + Provides detailed FMEP system cost estimates. + Lead Kraus-Anderson’s (KA) FMEP system design-assist role on individual projects. + Identifies trends and KA business opportunities relating to FMEP Coordination support services. + Provides support to senior management to develop long-term FMEP coordination and related system service support goals. + Supports the development and implementation of FMEP coordination service standards and templates for the areas of: + Sales strategy development, Marketing RFP responses and presentations. + Creates KA FMEP standards for use in KA Special Requirements for bid solicitation. + Assists in setting standards for KA FMEP clash detection process and procedures, including best practices for performing + system clash detection, running meetings, reporting, and resolving conflicts. + Provides FMEP estimating templates for use by pre-construction teams. + Provides FMEP system review templates for pre-installation conferences and field quality control monitoring. + Provides assistance/support with FMEP systems commissioning activities, field trouble-shooting, and warranty follow-up. + Provides jobsite review of FMEP system installation as may be required for quality, progress, pre-punch-listing, equipment start + up, commissioning planning and support. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + 8+ years' experience in the design of mechanical systems for multiple building types or equivalent of education and/or experience + Possesses a working knowledge of building automation system controls + Possesses a working knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage communication, audio/visual, safety, and security systems + Possesses a working knowledge of standards, guidelines, building codes, and sustainability + Possesses a working knowledge of FMEP computer aided-design (CAD) standards and working knowledge of 3D visualization + Experience with building construction sequencing and building systems interface, including structural and exterior assemblies and envelope calculations + Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office 365 – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers **Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field + Licensed Professional Engineer + Experience working for a design-build Mechanical contractor + Experience working for a large Owner of multiple buildings + Experience with Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) computer programs collection + Experience in Healthcare, Mission Critical, K-12 Education, Higher Education, Multi-Family Housing, Commercial, and Government/Public markets preferred + Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification + Knowledge of Bluebeam; Modelogix **Other:** + Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to the KA Motor Vehicle Policy. + Travel 10-15% **Physical Demands:** The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
