Our mechanical engineering team is looking for a Bulk Material Handling Specialist to join our team in Vancouver. This is an opportunity to be a lead on projects and provide guidance and mentorship to our junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with project managers to accomplish various tasks associated with design and construction of the bulk material handling system (conveyors); Lead technical planning, interfacing several contracts, designs, and construction groups; Peer-review existing designs; Provide the link between the designers, fabricators, logistics and construction teams to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective installation and ramp-up of the systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mining, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited university. Professional Engineering designation in Canada, or the ability to attain one. Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial setting. Experience with bulk material handling systems; including design and construction of equipment (conveyors, feeders, chutes). Ability to interpret and communicate the requirements of drawings and specifications including: Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, General Arrangements, Underground Layouts, and Vendor Equipment Drawings. Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, including technical presentation abilities. Previous on-site experience as a project engineer supporting construction of large-scale industrial projects is an asset. Previous experience as a package engineer for vendor-supplied equipment is an asset, including shop drawing review and resolving vendor design issues. Previous experience on large scale construction project is an asset, including knowledge of mechanical completions and commissioning activities.
