The purpose of this position is to assist the Mechanical Engineering Manager in executing and planning Mechanical Engineering team design efforts associated with New Store Development, Remodels and Special Projects.  The Mechanical Engineer 2 assists with training incoming mechanical engineering team members and troubleshooting HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems issues. This position provides engineering design solutions for Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire protection systems used in Publix retail facilities.

This is primarily an office-based position located at Publix’s Lakeland, Florida corporate office.  

Responsibilities include: training and coordinating work with the mechanical engineering teamdesigning mechanical systems used in Publix stores and acting as the primary Mechanical Engineer of Recordparticipating in the design and production of construction documents for new prototypes and site-specific projectsanswering questions and providing direction to various customers to promote accurate interpretation of plans by contractors
