What You Will Contribute:
The Mechanical Engineer II provides sustainability engineering & continuous product improvement design engineering with minimal oversight. The includes but is not limited to performing product and design verification tests, assisting with defining test plans, maintaining existing product lines and participating on cross-functional improvement teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Perform product and design verification tests
Assist in defining test plans/production implementations
Write test, development, and improvement procedures
Compile and present engineering test and performance reports
Initiate and implement engineering change requests
Designs components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies
Acts as a mentor to Engineer I and technicians.
Participate actively on project teams (maybe a project lead)
Review, validate, and audit Level III (specific work task) procedures and supporting process documents.
Apply project management process and tools to manufacturing-based projects to ensure projects meet cost and timing objectives. Develops or provides input into a project: schedules, budgets, risks
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of related experienceBachelor’s degree from a four-year college6 sigma formal training desiredAbility to do the following on a primarily independent basis: Define the actual problem, test multiple scenarios, troubleshoot product issues, implement appropriate solutions and communicate the results.Ability to operate on a manufacturing floor as applicable (Preferred)Experience in casting and molding processesExperience in CFD and FEA desiredExperience in 3D modeling softwareSolid foundation of engineering fundamentalsExperience with electronics/circuits/programming desiredFamiliarity with tool designHydraulics experience a plusDemonstrated appropriate Judgement/decision making / for their level of authorityAbility to travel up to 25% within the US and Mexico.
