This is an exciting time at Enovix! We are looking for experienced candidates to help support our new lithium-ion battery production facility in Penang, Malaysia for commercialization of our 3D Silicon™ Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery.
Job Summary:We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Automation Engineering Group. The engineer will be responsible for designing fixtures and machines to assist battery development.Work closely with process development engineers to understand requirements and develop robust and reliable manufacturing process equipment.Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for manufacturing automation equipment, including scope development, prototyping, and fabrication.Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designsEnsure deliverables, maintain safe machine design standards, and meet regulatory compliance requirementsPerform engineering calculations to support design workCreate and review concept development, system architecture design, assembly & technical drawings, bill of materials, and specifications using computer softwareSupport pilot and production of the final product by troubleshooting process and component problemsProvide engineering support to Manufacturing, Procurement, and Test Engineering to facilitate transfer of designs to productionCollaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractorsPerform detailed documentation to track project development and design processComfortable operating test, measurement and machine shop equipmentResearch and stay current with core technologies and the latest trends in automation Detailed knowledge of common automation components (motors, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, gas and water components, frame types, sheet metal and other enclosure materials, etc.) is requiredExperience with mechanical design and analysis skills including statics, dynamics, kinematics, strength of materials as well as stress and thermal analysisQualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience working in engineeringStrong Mechanical design and documentation using SolidWorks 3D design tools. Experience with additional CAD tools is a plus.Hands on, practical engineering and problem-solving experience with a variety of commercial and/or industrial automation projectsFirm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and productsCreative problem-solving and managing measured riskExperience using basic machine shop tools, mill, band saw, drill press, etc. Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning abilityAbility to communicate effectively and clearlyEnovix is an equal opportunity employer.
