You will work in a fast-paced R&D and prototype environment focused on powertrain systems, lubrication systems (e.g., dry sump pump design, gear lubrication), drivetrain gears, engines, and engine turbines. You will primarily use CATIA v5 for CAD and engineering drawings per Y14.5 - 2009. Your role will involve some engineering analysis using FEA tools (MSC Apex, CATIA v4, ANSYS Mechanical). Initially, you will work on legacy programs and systems, improving their efficiency and supporting ARMY programs. You will heavily revise mechanical systems and eventually take on more new developments. You will own your designs, take initiative in performing research, be resourceful, ask questions, and meet deadlines in a rapid prototype environment that encourages 'failing forward.' Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Lake Forest, California. Work Environment The company develops and manufactures fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including manned and unmanned tiltrotors. They are actively developing their Optimum Speed Tilt-Rotor (OSTR) and other technologies for transport applications. The small team of about 48-50 people fosters a laid-back family environment.
