Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Mechanical Engineer located in Milpitas CA.

Reporting to the Design Test Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be evaluating materials and developing machinery and processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications.

What a typical day looks like:

Image closely examining a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or using a Microscope to understand its functionality, our Quality Lab specializes in just that.Join us for a technological exploration of the electronic interconnections we assemble.Utilize Quality Lab tools to test, evaluate, measure, record, and report data.Tool maintenance and preventive maintenance (PM), maintaining 5S standards, supporting the Monthly Newsletter, and identifying Six Sigma Green Belt opportunities.Conduct tests to evaluate PCBs, PCBAs, components, consumables, and materials, focusing on critical-to-quality attributes.  Create detailed Lab Reports in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word to present data, summarize findings, and draw conclusions.Operate a variety of machines and conduct tests, such as Strain Gauge testing, X-ray analysis, reliability chambers, cross-sections, microscopy, and Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).Engage in additional tasks, including cross-training, writing or editing procedures.Unique skills are highly valued, including technical writing, proficiency in Develop new uses for known materials.Examine product failure data and test results to identify root cause(s) of problems and develop solutions.Conduct or supervise tests on materials or finished products to ensure quality.Design and direct the testing and/or control of manufacturing procedures.Define appropriate technique for constructing and joining materials.Evaluate technical specifications and costs relating to process or product design objectives.Monitor material performance and assess material deterioration.Review new product plans and make recommendations for materials based on design objectives.Conduct training sessions on new material products, applications, or manufacturing methods for customers and their employees.Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers and corporate executives as necessary.Supervise the work of technologists, technicians and other engineers and scientists

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering3+ experience Mechanical planning and testingSolidWorks, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification (preferred) Electronic Assembly, Materials, Processes Standards  Advanced mathematical concepts, and apply mathematical operations to analyze and ensure the robustness of assigned designs Advanced mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. Strong Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
