Responsibilities

SSOE is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include:

Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection.Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.Performs utility studies and detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicates changes to the team.May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.May take part in client contact and business development activities.Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.May write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.Performs design work on REVIT.Develops engineering concepts and presentations.Coordinates work with other disciplines.Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.Travel, including extended on-site visits, required.Valid driver's license required.  Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of Kentucky is required.PE or PE-tracked preferred, plus five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems.Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects is a plus.Good communication skills.Salary Range: $95,000-115,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K, PTO & paid holidays.SSOE offers ownership opportunities to all employees at the Associate level and above.  This position, based on experience, is a position that will allow you an opportunity to become a shareholder of SSOE.  As an employee-owned firm, being a shareholder provides additional level of earning and investment to our group of owners.
