Mott Macdonald Bentley (MMB) is the design and build unit of global engineering consultancy Mott Macdonald. We need a Mechanical / Senior Mechanical Engineer to support us to deliver a growing workload for one of the UK’s largest water company, Severn Trent.

 

We work in fully integrated project teams, with technical specialists supporting across those teams, providing you with the opportunity to work across multiple project types within the water sector.

 

You will:

Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects through the outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover, including, but not limited to, P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, defining safe access and lifting arrangements, above ground pipework layouts, etc.Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech, Process etc designers and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by Severn Trent Water specifications.Build positive relationships with the Severn Trent Water Technical Assurance team and promote a "one-team" approach.Support and mentor less experienced members of the team.Regular visits to your project sites which may be across the Severn Trent Region (costs incurred are recoverable).

 

Candidate Specification:

IMechE accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering.Chartered member of the IMechE or ability to demonstrate progress made toward membership.Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
