Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of precision opto-mechanical components and products, including optical assemblies, IR & visible sights, and electronics packaging mainly for military applications. As a member of a project team, you will use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software to develop new or improved products, evaluate and recommend design approaches, investigate solutions to product or process problems, and perform structural and thermal modeling and analysis of complex opto-mechanical systems to verify and validate that the design meets performance requirements. You will also develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks, collaborate with Systems Engineering and other Design Engineering disciplines, provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments, participate in and conduct peer reviews and formal design reviews, create and release engineering drawings and documents using PLM systems, participate in proposal preparation, and support testing of products.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Melbourne, Florida.
Work EnvironmentWorking on a team with 6-10 people. Responsibilities include layout architecture, preliminary CAD work, sizing parts and bearings, and direct interaction with outside vendors.About Actalent
