Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide engineering support for new product development projects, interface with various team members to enhance existing products, and generate manufacturing-ready designs. This role requires a high level of mechanical aptitude and the ability to develop and test engineering solutions.
ResponsibilitiesProvide engineering support for new product development projects in a lead role.Interface with Product Group leader, Project manager, and other project team members to enhance existing products.Provide direction to others relative to assigned project development activities.Design solutions that meet the specific needs or directives outlined in Engineering Change requests.Provide engineering and Finite Element Analysis as required by the project scope.Work with vendors to facilitate communication and product development needs.Write test plans and quality documents.Generate manufacturing-ready designs and work with factory personnel to ensure capabilities alignment.Execute Engineering analysis and high-level accepted engineering practices.Essential SkillsWorking knowledge of solid modeling, using SolidWorks.Strong drafting ability, including a working knowledge of various dimensional callouts, tolerances, and symbols.Experience performing stress analysis.Ability to read and interpret complex documents, blueprints, and work instructions.High level of mechanical aptitude with a fundamental understanding of electrical principles.Understanding of materials and their relative properties as it relates to engineering.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism in its most difficult phases and handle a variety of abstract and concrete variables.Hands-on ability to develop test fixtures and perform testing of design elements.Additional Skills & Qualifications3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing facility.2+ years of experience using SolidWorks.2+ years of conducting stress analysis.Familiarity with bill of materials, CAD, SolidWorks design, ETO, sheet metal, and sheet metal fabrication.Work Environment
This position is located in Jackson, WI, with occasional travel to a new facility in Hartford, WI. The company currently employs 208 people. The work environment features a casual dress code and typical 8-hour workdays with minimal overtime.
