Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

The position of Mechanical/Hardware Engineer operates as a member of a team to design and test all aspects of mechanical equipment and simulation hardware. This individual will develop, read, and understand technical drawings and documents and be able to translate them into operational mechanisms. The Mechanical Engineer leads design efforts of products such as engines, machines, instruments, controls, or robots. They lead a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans. The engineer uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product, produces specifications for products, and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production. They build models and prototypes of the product and test the design, study the test data, and make comparisons with similar designs. Additionally, the engineer develops control systems and monitors production. Performs other related duties as assigned.
