Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer III reports to the Project Manager. This position is self-reliantly responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems, and performs engineering design evaluations. The Mechanical Engineer III also produces drawings and specifications for projects with little supervision.
• Review specifications, technical manuals, and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical system design with architects and other consultants.
• Assist higher level engineers in engineering tasks, and project management tasks for assigned projects.
• May assist with preparation of proposals, reports, and research technical information to support and design systems.
• Support planning and execution efforts for technical investigations, analyses, and testing.
• Provide supporting technical and logistics documentation relative to recommended design improvements and performance requirements.
• Load calculations.
• Assist with equipment selection.
• Analysis of equipment energy use for optimizing systems selection.
• Developing system narratives (write and organize the document, as well as develop the images).

Work Environment
They have a large modern office in Rancho Cordova, and they have an office in Long Beach as well that helps to support design projects. The pit is open, but everyone has a tall, walled cubicle with standing desks and dual monitors. It is a quiet environment and does have a more corporate consulting feeling. The principals sit in the offices along the outside walls of the pit. They have a gym on-site.
