Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer with at least 3 years of experience to support the growth and expansion of our business. The position will start as a \"Mechanical Engineer/Designer\" and has the potential to progress over time to \"Project Manager\" or \"Project Engineer.\" This is a direct hire opportunity with a local MEP Consulting Firm in Columbus, OH.
ResponsibilitiesDesign HVAC and Plumbing systems, including load calculations, air and piping distribution, and equipment selection.Prepare design layouts for commercial and industrial mechanical systems based on specific design objectives.Create schematics for various systems and collaborate with all disciplines to achieve coordinated design.Perform fieldwork, including design investigation and construction observation, to confirm existing conditions.Review designs and correspond with clients, colleagues, owners, and contractors.Develop familiarity with current mechanical codes and standards.Form relationships with personnel of other disciplines (architectural, electrical, structural, civil) and manufacturing sales representatives.Prepare general and mechanical specifications.Essential SkillsProficiency in Revit MEP, Revit, AutoCAD, MEP design, and MEP engineering.Experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, and building design for commercial construction.Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent experience.At least 3 years of on-the-job experience as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer or Electrical Engineer/Designer for building systems.Knowledge of engineering calculations.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience producing construction documents for commercial building projects or retail projects.Familiarity with healthcare or government-related projects is not relevant.Ability to maintain a stable job history.Work Environment
