**Your Opportunity**
As a Mechanical Engineer, your role in our professional consulting services team is to work independently on projects of various complexity, and as a leader of a project, through all phases of a project lifecycle. You are responsible for leading the design of HVAC systems, mainly for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, hydroelectric power stations, storm mitigation facilities, and semi-conductor manufacturing facilities in different locations across North America. Every project has its own unique challenges, and you are considered a resource for solution to those challenges.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead the design of HVAC systems from preliminary design to issue for construction (IFC).
+ Develop design documents including, but not limited to drawings and specifications.
+ Perform engineering calculations.
+ Communicate with team members, clients and equipment vendors.
+ Research and interpret applicable codes based on the project needs.
+ Coordinate design with other design disciplines.
+ Provide design support to junior staff.
+ Provide engineering services during construction.
+ Occasional travel to job sites (less than 5%).
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Strong understanding of all phases of project life cycle.
+ Ability to work on multiple projects.
+ Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
+ Knowledge of HVAC load calculation software such as HAP or Trace 3D.
**Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
+ Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
+ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

**Salary Range(s):**
* CA Other Locations $93,400 - CA Other Locations $145,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
